    A steady return is an assumption, not a promise. Real investing and trading results vary and can include losses. Additions are made at the end of each period, and the doubling time ignores additions. With more than 400 periods the breakdown switches to yearly. This is not financial advice.

    How periodic growth works

    Balance = P × (1 + r)n

    P is the starting balance, r is the return for one period as a decimal, and n is the number of periods. Each period earns on the balance built up in all the earlier ones.

    Example: 500 growing 2% a month for 12 months ends at about 634, a gain of about 134. Small steady returns add up, but high returns over many periods quickly produce numbers that real markets rarely deliver.

    A steady return is an assumption you choose, not a prediction. Actual results vary from period to period and can be negative.
